The exercise of any activities related to the treatment and disposal of radioactive waste is subject to licensing by the Authority, following completion of the environmental impact and protection and safety evaluations.
Presidential Decree 12/12, dated 25 January 2012 - Radiation Protection Regulations:
Protection of persons against exposure to ionizing radiation
Safety of radiation sources (industrial and medical)
Management of radioactive waste
Protection of the environment
Importation/exportation of radioactive sources
Background radiation for Angola is 0.1 μSv/h; considered NORM contaminated when the total gamma emission reading is > 0.23 μSv/h (including background)
